We want every child to achieve their full potential, but this goal is unattainable when students begin kindergarten with enormous variations in school readiness. These differences matter enormously because kids who start school behind tend to stay behind. We reduce this disparity by including a year of pre-kindergarten that is fully integrated in our schools.
